The National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL) has released the call for FY 25 requests for computing on Kestrel, NREL's 3rd generation supercomputer. Research and development projects that are funded by EERE Offices as well as NREL projects funded by a non-EERE source are eligible to apply for computing resources for the FY 25 allocation period of performance, which runs Oct. 1, 2024, through Sept. 30, 2025. Kestrel Student Campaign
Jan. 3, 2024
We are working with EERE on a new effort to engage more students in computing and to amplify how computing is used for EERE work. These goals begin with a Kestrel-focused campaign in January, where undergraduate and graduate students from any U.S. college or university can apply for time on Kestrel for their EERE mission-related research project. Students have until Feb. 12, 2024, to apply, and EERE decisions on allocations will be made by early March. Student time on Kestrel will be granted for the remainder of FY 2024.

Check your AUs!
Oct. 12, 2023
Reminder: projects may be awarded AUs on more than one system. Please check the Lex web interface at https://hpcprojects.nrel.gov/ or your allocation's award letter for the system(s) and AUs awarded to your allocation. Please note: not all projects have an Eagle allocation. Unless you were specifically awarded AUs on Eagle, you will not be able to run jobs there. You do not have to be a lead or P.I. to view AUs. If you are a project user, you can also see AUs by logging into Lex (hpcprojects.nrel.gov).
